I love to cheer for underdogs, and young women who are in this category have my special devotion. As a child of the 1960s, I remember a time when women didn’t have the same rights and opportunities as men, and we still seem to be fighting it today. Coming from a trauma-based childhood myself, I find myself comparing and contrasting coping mechanisms. Luckily, I haven’t found it necessary to kill anyone with dragon stone or jacked-up hornets so far. It delights me when these girls win, whether they game the system or fight their way with guns and knives.

I go insane over a killerrific suspense thriller, and this one checked all the right boxes for me. The setting is 1930s England, for one. So many of my favorite mysteries are set in that era.
The main character was easy to fall in love with. I loved that she was a female spy in that time period. It was thought-provoking and torturous trying to guess how to solve the crime.

Ahhh! I loved this one. It was epic fantasy at its finest, with compelling characters and a style of writing that had me enthralled from start to finish. I felt the Norse-inspired world-building was magnificent. I was caught up in the plot, the frustration, the desire.
Another slow burn that had me still thinking about it two days after I’d finished it.

I immediately found myself lost in this enemies-to-lovers adventure. The bewitching storyline and mystery kept me engaged from the start. I couldn’t put the book down. The writer, Kristen Ciccarrelli, was new to me when I began this series, and she made a beautiful impression by capturing my interest from page one.

Like many others, and perhaps mostly the dreamers, I’ve had a lifelong fascination with time travel, along as many others, always wondering, what if? This is one of the better time travel adventures that could make anyone a believer! Or at least make you wonder, at least it did for me. And I’m a real fan for a good time travel mystery.

One spark to this intriguing story was the main characters are thrown off their initial course of testing their time-ship, hoping to travel just a couple years into the future only to find themselves over 200 years in the past.
