Why did I love this book?
I identified with the protagonist's drive toward his grandfather's lessons and his desire to live the opposite of his father's path. I was immediately taken by the love interest, at which point the action chases them forward—much like the train that rattles their world.
This world and its inhabitants are as carefully crafted as the clockwork bees, the war train, and the vivacious old woman with her own story to tell!
