What is my book about?

Standing at 6'4" with steel grey eyes, he might look like a walking dream, but he acts like a first-class jerk. Who would have thought that one night, while dragging myself home after doing double shifts at the diner, I'd be jumped by three men...only to have Xavier come to my rescue.

Oh yes, Xavier bloody Blackwood saved my life...but the thing I saw, the creature that ripped those men to shreds, wasn't the Xavier everyone thinks they know. He was a wolf, a demon, a creature from myth, but before I had time to process, he knocked me out too. Humans that learn about the existence of werewolves have to die...There are no exceptions.

The books I picked & why

Book cover of Dead Witch Walking

Sara Snow Why did I love this book?

I have not read this book in ages, but I would read it over again in a second. The MC Rachel is a kick-ass paranormal bounty hunter reining in the law-breaking supernature creatures for a government agency. I love the humor and her interactions with the secondary characters, and they only get better as the series goes on. The relationship between demon Al and Rachel is an especially fun one, though book one is just Al’s introduction.

*Note:  Last I heard, the kindle edition has formatting & editing issues not present in the hard copy I read.

Seeing Bryce finally come into her own and find someone who loves every bit of her sass keeps me waiting on the edge of my seat for each new installment of this series.

The MC Mercy is not only headstrong and independent, she has a wicked sense of humor which is all the more evident when she is interreacting with her divorced werewolf neighbor Adam. There are a ton of subplots and action that allow us to see that she is smart and cunning and puts her deductive reasoning skills on display. There is a reason that this book series is considered the quintessential introduction to the werewolf genre.

New book alert!

Who am I?

As an art school drop-out who'd been majoring in sculpture, I'm fascinated by material culture—artifacts created by early peoples that reveal their cultural values. Often, the relics and sites that engage both archaeologists and readers suggest unexpected depths of knowledge that show human ingenuity through the ages. I strive to incorporate the details of an artifact or monument's creation into the clues and descriptions in my work, hopefully illuminating a little-known historical realm, if only by torchlight as the adventure unfolds. The fact that I get to explore so many exotic locations, in research if not in person, is a definite plus!
