Why am I passionate about this?

I chose these books for you to enjoy because they are 5 of my favorites for different reasons. You see, deep down, I am an unapologetic Bible-reading sci-fi, fantasy, and old-school monster movie-loving nerd. Books like these have helped shape my love for fiction and great storytelling as they teleported me to Narnia or Mordor. Soaring the spaceways as The Galadorian Spacekinight or the veil between flesh and spirit being revealed in This Present Darkness. These books and many like them helped shape my writing style, and I want you to share in the enjoyment of reliving them over and over again like me!

I recommend this book because it absolutely captivated and catapulted me into a land of wonder, mystery, and epic fantasy. All the creatures and Christian allegory throughout the book were amazing, and it was heart-stopping to see the sacrifices made but the hope that shined through. It is classic storytelling at its finest, and I cannot recommend it enough!

Book cover of This Present Darkness

Keith Perrin Why did I love this book?

This book was a game changer when it first came out in the Christian fiction genre. The supernatural elements of Angels and demons in Christian fiction novels were not as prevalent in the '80s and '90s. Especially the inner workings of how the battle between good and evil works and strategizes on a personal level for the souls of men in the invisible supernatural spiritual realm.

The battle is real and has eternal consequences, and this book definitely shines the light on that in this exciting supernatural thriller. It is a must for Christian and secular lovers of the supernatural genre.

Book cover of The Fellowship of the Ring

Keith Perrin Why did I love this book?

Without a single doubt, the father of the modern epic fantasy genre. Wizards, Hobbits, Giants, Dragons, epic quests, and a great Dark lord. This book and the subsequent books that followed drew millions to the idea that this nerdy stuff could be way cool and relevant. It satisfies on so many levels. It was brilliantly written and transported me into another world full of wonder, danger, suspense, and the supernatural.

I fell in love with the characters and so will you. The audiobook dramatized version by “Minds eye Radio production” was incredible to me. A must for all audiobook fantasy fans.

Book cover of Rom: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus Vol. 1

Keith Perrin Why did I love this book?

Truth be told. Rom is one of my all-time favorite heroic, honorable characters that I ever read in my entire life. To say that I absolutely cherish the series and my memories as a youth reading the book is an understatement. He is a tragic hero who gave up his humanity to save his world from the monstrous Dire Wraiths, an alien demonic-like race that subjugates and destroys other worlds.

I literally got emotional reading these books. I was hooked and still love Rom the Space Knight. The art of the book is superb and thrilling, as it captivates like the world of Rom is real. If you like robots, monsters, shapeshifters, sci-fi, and supernatural fantasy and love heroes with honor, you will absolutely love Rom the Space Knight!

For all you fantasy and sci-fi fans like me who are aspiring or veteran writers looking for good characters of magical supernatural or beings of legend, look no further. It is full of different types of beasts of yore from mythology, monsters and beasts from the ancient world and modern fantasy characters.
