What is my book about?

My name is Riley, and a few days ago, I lost everyone I’ve ever known and loved. It all started around the time I was born. The Witch Clan considered “evil”, started messing with forbidden magic, and caused what we refer to as the big event. By the time one of the good Witch Clans stopped them, it was too late, the damage was done. Mom always knew this would affect us, so she had me practice an escape plan. Obviously, I hoped for a different outcome, but because of Mom’s premonition magic, it was only a matter of time before she was proven right.

Now, I need to locate the nearly impossible-to-locate Sanctuary. I've got no choice because I want to survive, and more importantly, I want revenge.

This is a refreshingly unique take on a classic fairy tale that we all know and love with some very dark themes.

This is my first book series with this author and she got me to laugh, cry and root for these characters that she’s created. I was so sad when I finished this series!

I think Rowan is honestly the guy we all dream to end up with.

But really, Lily is kick ass, despite the fact that we meet her with all her ailments at the beginning of the book. This is darker than Josephine normally writes, but it is so good! Such a unique take on witches, that I really hope she decides to continue building this series at a later stage again.
