Tyson’s Gift: How an 8-Pound K9 Became a Man’s Greatest Spiritual Guide by police officer Brandon Wainwright is the story this country needs to hear, especially now. From beginning to end, the author brings the reader into his personal life and the ups and downs of his relationships with an openness that appeals to mother, father, sister, or brother. What is this book about?

As a police officer, Brandon Wainwright has seen a lot in his ten-plus years on the force, but nothing so strange or life-changing as the spiritual awakening he experienced when his dog, a precocious Chihuahua named Tyson, passed away . . . and then began communicating from the other side.

Once a hardnosed skeptic, Brandon found himself thrust into unfamiliar territory, consulting with spiritual intuitives and pet communicators in an effort to uncover the truth about the afterlife—embarking upon an incredible journey that would shake his perception of reality and challenge his beliefs about what happens to us after we…

While James Van Praagh’s book titled Unfinished Business: What the Dead Can Teach Us About Life is not strictly dealing with reincarnation, but rather, what those who have passed over want us to know, it is founded on the same principle—that life and death are not about punishment and reward but compassion and love. Told on a case-by-case basis, the book aims a spotlight on just how important our earthly relationships are. And those souls, who have moved out of their bodies, are determined to have their messages heard, whether to right wrongs, settle debts, or, as in most cases, to ask for simple forgiveness from those they wronged on earth.

For those with a religious upbringing like mine, Elizabeth Clare Prophet’s book, Reincarnation: The Missing Link in Christianity, may prove a fascinating read. And for those many brought up in the Southern Baptist culture of fear and punishment like I was, the idea of living other lives can be a frightening one or a welcome one, particularly when seen as a second chance, instead of through the lens of the Biblical concepts of judgment and Hell. It is a scholarly read, in that the more you know about the Bible, the more you will get out of reading it.

What is this book about?

A long time ago Christians believed in reincarnation

“This is an extremely important book, a book providing profound insight and truth, a book which will open minds and remove fears.”―Brian Weiss, M.D., New York Times bestselling author of Many Lives, Many Masters

This groundbreaking work makes the case that Jesus taught reincarnation and traces the history of reincarnation in Christianity―from Jesus and early Christians through Church councils and the persecution of so-called heretics. Using the latest scholarship and evidence from the Dead Sea Scrolls and Gnostic texts, it also argues persuasively that Jesus was a mystic who taught that our…

On a much lighter note, The Zack Files Great Grandpa’s in the Litter Box by Dan Greenburg is a children’s chapter book with a big message, using humor to sum up what reincarnation really is (at least when souls reincarnate as pets). In a nutshell, the titular cat reincarnates to clear up unfinished business with his loved ones who survived him. This book manages to simplify in less than sixty pages what could take a scholar a lifetime to disseminate.

I’ve kept this passion and following a mid-life career change from corporate, became a psychologist, psychotherapist, and eventually past life regression therapist. I founded the international Past Life Regression Academy in 2002 to teach others to heal the soul, and the Academy has trained more than 700 past life regression therapists throughout the world. I’ve written extensively in this area and know most of the pioneers, and I hope you enjoy the books on this list as much as I have!

Andy Tomlinson Why did Andy love this book?

When the book was written very few past books were available so this was the first book on the subject that I read and it took me on a path from being a traditional psychotherapist to being trained by Roger.

He pioneered body therapy for clearing traumatic past lives and through his work I was inspired to become a past life regression therapist, author, and eventually a trainer in this area myself.

Roger had the gift of communication through his talks and books that has touched so many people over the years. This book is still as relevant and inspirational today as it was when I first read it.

A firsthand look at the psychology of reincarnation—and the dramatic power of past-life regression to radically transform and heal our lives

In this fascinating and provocative book, Dr. Roger J. Woolger, a graduate of Oxford University and a certified Jungian analyst, reveals an exciting psychotherapeutic technique that produces astoundingly beneficial emotional and physical results—whether you believe in reincarnation as a literal or symbolic phenomenon.

Drawing on both Western science and Eastern spirituality, Dr. Woolger shows how patients have unlocked the secrets of their innermost memories—the often self-destructive cycles that are repeated life after life—to overcome the insecurity, depression, guilt, inhibition,…

Book cover of The Zen of Therapy: Uncovering a Hidden Kindness in Life

Rande Brown

From my list on karma and reincarnation.

Why am I passionate about this?

I have spent the last 50 years exploring the intersection of Eastern and Western thought and spirituality. Along the way, I experientially learned the details of three of my former lifetimes: as a rabbi in 3rd-century Alexandria, as a tantric yogini and follower of Achi Chokyi Nyima in China, and as the legendary courtesan Lady Mori, who became the disciple and lover of the Zen master Ikkyu in 15th-century Japan. Studying the ways my previous incarnations are interconnected has taught me much about how the principles of karma and reincarnation function in real-time in the actual world, and I treasure the opportunity to share these insights with you.

Rande Brown Why did Rande love this book?

In his new book, Dr. Epstein reflects on a year’s worth of selected sessions with his patients and observes how, in the incidental details of a given hour, his Buddhist background influences the way he works and reveals how a therapist can help patients cultivate the sense that there is something magical, something wonderful, and something to trust running through our lives.

It gives context for Brown’s work in determining the effects that actual past lives can have on current psychological dilemmas and using the important understanding of reincarnation and karma she learned in Japan to help patients transcend the here and now.

A remarkable exploration of the therapeutic relationship, Dr. Mark Epstein reflects on one year’s worth of therapy sessions with his patients to observe how his training in Western psychotherapy and his equally long investigation into Buddhism, in tandem, led to greater awareness—for his patients, and for himself

Andy Tomlinson Why did Andy love this book?

This is Ian’s first past life book and in my view his best of many.

Wanting to have his own experience of a past life before writing the book Ian came to me for a past life regression to discover if past lives were real. He regressed into a past life of being tortured by having his fingernails removed that totally convinced him that the experience was real.

The book has a summary of the work of many pioneers in past life regression and their books and also future life regression. Ian presents information in a rational way and has done amazing research to dismiss much of skeptic’s criticism in early past books.

What is this book about?

Rational spirituality: surely this is a contradiction in terms? How can spirituality be rational, when it relies on faith and revelation? The simple answer is it does not have to any more...

There is persuasive evidence from near-death and out-of-body experiences that the physical brain is merely the instrument through which our soul consciousness expresses itself in the physical world. There is equally persuasive evidence from children and adults who spontaneously remember past lives, and from past-life and interlife regression, that we are individual souls who reincarnate to experience and grow.

A careful analysis of skeptics' arguments in each of…

Ellenmorris Tiegerman Author Of Past Lives Denied

From my list on past life regression.

Why am I passionate about this?

I had an early experience with a past life regression. Over the years, my curiosity resulted in a search to find answers about this experience. So, I have read and studied extensively about the topic and the issue. For me, the culminating experience was the seminar with Dr. Brian Weiss at the Omni Center. The program was designed for therapists and highlighted techniques in past life regression, specifically for healing purposes. My time with Dr. Weiss convinced me that this is a very critical topic that most people are not only curious about but actively searching for answers.

What is most extraordinary about this book is Dr. Weiss’s description of how past life regression can heal the traumas that we face in our present lives. The search and process of reviewing a past life can uncover ways to deal with present-day problems that can be resolved in real-time. Understanding dynamics in a past life can have practical implications for dealing with present-day problems, a wonderfully real, practical solution to the therapeutic healing process.

I had the extraordinary opportunity to meet personally with Dr. Brian Weiss at a training seminar at the Omni Center several years ago. The therapeutic advice and past-life regressions that I observed convinced me that my own personal experience as a teenager was real and worthy of narrative. The result was a storyline for my present book. Working with Dr. Weiss at this seminar was transformational in terms of my own research and work as…

This book describes multiple past life experiences by a number of individuals, providing the reader with a broad range of possible accounts, details, and avenues of exploration.

The descriptions of people's personal experiences are invaluable to those of us who are interested in past life experiences but are uncomfortable or anxious about beginning the process of self-exploration.
