Bill Thompson ❤️ loved this book because...

I eagerly anticipate every next book in the Gabriel Allon series. Silva's writing is excellent - he puts you in the moment with this characters, and I have to force myself to slow down and not devour the entire book in a few days.

My 2nd favorite read in 2024

Book cover of The Housemaid

Bill Thompson ❤️ loved this book because...

Wow! I love a good mystery with twists and turns, but I was totally unprepared for The Housemaid. It's a riveting story and I couldn't wait to turn the next page and find more thrills. I've read every book in the Housemaids series by McFadden, and each one is as great as the one before. I don't know how she keeps coming up with these great plot lines, but Im happy she does!

Don't miss the New York Times and USA Today bestseller and addictive psychological thriller with a jaw-dropping twist that’s burning up Instagram and TikTok--Freida McFadden’s The Housemaid is perfect for fans of Ruth Ware, Lisa Jewell, and Verity.

Every day I clean the Winchesters’ beautiful house top to bottom. I collect their daughter from school. And I cook a delicious meal for the whole family before heading up to eat alone in my tiny room on the top floor.

I try to ignore how Nina makes a mess just to watch me clean it up. How she tells strange lies…

My 3rd favorite read in 2024

Book cover of The Wishing Spell

Bill Thompson ❤️ loved this book because...

This is a young adult book, the first in a series called The Land of Stories. I picked it up for my grandchildren, but I ended up reading book one, then book two, and now I'm on book three. These are great stories about a pre-teen boy and girl who pop through a storybook their grandmother gave them.
There are plenty of fairy tale characters, all of whom do things totally differently than you've read about in Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson stories. The plot takes you along briskly, and I found myself wondering what was going to happen next, and how they were going to get out of one dilemma after another.
Highly recommend for light reading WAY WAY apart from traditional adult stuff. It's good to step out of the box now and then!
