Steve Rush Why did I love this book?

I loved the “wow factor” in the way the author set the scene and threw in a twist at the onset. The main character resonated with me in a special way based on her expertise in forensics. The evidence discovered at the crime scene led me to believe the realm of possibility exists even in the impossible. The one thing left to do—prove it.

Book cover of When You See Me

Steve Rush Why did I love this book?

I loved this novel for its realism in the author’s portrayal of the setting and the serial killer’s clues. I did not need to picture the setting; I had traveled through this part of my home state many times.

The intensity of this story kept me involved through each step of the investigation. I turned pages to learn how the author might deliver on promises and end with a satisfying denouement. Was I satisfied? Yes.

Book cover of The House at the End of the World

Steve Rush Why did I love this book?

I never consider myself taking a chance on a story’s worth with this author. I picked this novel for my list based on its imagery and true-to-life characterization portrayed on the pages by a master wordsmith unlike any out there.

The suspense delivered in this story and the character’s battle against an unknown enemy in a secluded setting where she must rely on herself for survival kept me turning pages.
