My favorite read in 2023

Book cover of Raven and the Beast

Sai Marie Johnson Why did I love this book?

This book caught my attention because of the title and because I am a sucker for the Beauty and the Beast trope.

This story is one that brings things to a whole new level with some dark and steamy edges that I found delightfully compelling. I thoroughly enjoy fairytales, especially those with a romantic sprinkling along some crafty spice.

This book delivers all of that in a delectable retelling of a contemporary version of Beauty and the Beast that I know romantasy and urban fantasy fans alike will adore just as much as I do.

My 2nd favorite read in 2023

Book cover of Twin Flame: Hearts of Fire Book1

Sai Marie Johnson Why did I love this book?

I was first introduced to Kassia Devane through a newsletter swap group for other authors, and I noticed that she had an eye-catching book cover that was about paranormal romances in the shifter trope, specifically, but it was more than that which got me really enthused on reading her story (it was the title of the book itself which I felt compelled by).

If you enjoy stories about werewolves and fated mate romances that touch on things like mysticism and twin flames, you will enjoy this story. As a PNR and fantasy fan, I felt like the world-building and the romance were elaborate and flaming, and I know that those who like wolf stories will be particularly drawn to this title, just as I was.

My 3rd favorite read in 2023

Book cover of The Libelle Papers

Sai Marie Johnson Why did I love this book?

I adore vampires in their truest state and the Gothic and steampunk aesthetic particularly. EC Hibbs is an author who can deliver on both themes with finesse, and this story is proof positive of why.

If you enjoy rich Gothic scenery, you will be thoroughly astonished by this author’s creative talent. If taboo and rebelling against societal norms tickles your fancy in any way, this story is right up your alley to stroke both urges in one delightful read.

What is this book about?

“It’s like being the heir to a throne. If I don’t pick up the mantle, then nobody else will.”

As the latest in a 250 year-old line, vampirism has always been normal to Hanna Bernstein. She and her father are the bearers of Die Gift: a collection of unpublished theses detailing the most secret and mysterious condition in history. But even she is unprepared for the twisted world of demons which threatens to swallow her.

When she breaks her family’s legacy to save the life of an old friend, she inadvertently catches the attention of a dangerous enemy. Forced to…

Don‘t forget about my book 😀

Book cover of Dance with Darkness: A Magical Enemies to Lovers Collection

What is my book about?

To protect your people, you must allow yourself to be captured by the creature everyone has feared for over a century. Or maybe, you're a stowaway bested by an enemy on distant shores or a princess seeking a deal to save your kingdom.

Whether this collection of stories takes you on a journey through a magical landscape or brings a creature from a distant land to your doorstep, you won't be left wanting of magic and excitement.

In this collection, you'll be captivated by dark magic, anti-heroes, and tough heroines who don't cower in the face of their demons. In fact, you might find some falling for them.
