Why did I love this book?
Lana Rubicon had been a wealthy and powerful L.A. real estate tycoon – until a bout with cancer brought everything crashing down.
She ends up living with her estranged daughter, Beth, and her granddaughter, Jack, in their Monterey Bay bungalow. Her fall from grace and chemo treatments have conspired to sap Lana’s lust for life – until Jack becomes the prime suspect in a murder. Lana throws herself into an ill-advised personal investigation, abetted by Beth and Jack. If all of this sounds way heavy, fear not, this book is loaded with humor and lightened by the satisfaction of seeing Lana mend her relationships with her kin.
This literal page-turner kept me guessing right up until the end with several plot twists and enough breadcrumbs to keep me intrigued. If you like your mystery enlivened by humor and heart, this one’s for you!
