Why read it?
4 authors picked Zombie Fallout as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?
This is a gem of a novel and one that should not ever be skipped over. The author’s humor bleeds through every page. This novel, and the entire series, literally had me in tears of laughter at many points. Even though the comedic aspect does tend to be the overarching theme, it does not detract from the horror of the situations the main characters find themselves in. The main character is obviously based on the author himself, as well as his family and his dog. This is fascinating because many authors may take certain aspects of themselves or loved ones…
From A.L.'s list on binge-worthy apocalyptic reads.
You can’t compile a list like this without including Mark Tufo’s Zombie Fallout series. At least in sheer volume, this is as epic as it gets. Tufo has now published the 20th book of this series. 20 books! Tufo's series is built on a solid core of family survival. The books' dry humor and the wit of the main character, Mike Talbot—this is what really sells these books. This isn't pure zombie, mind you (or should I say "brainnssss you"). There is also an evil vampire queen and other monsters to spice things up.
From S. L.'s list on zombie apocalypse that take you on an epic journey.
Mike Talbot is the main character in Mark Tufo’s series, and he’s beloved by the hundreds of thousands of people who have read the sixteen-book epic. Mike’s story follows his survival in the wake of a botched vaccine spreading an undead plague, but as we discover, there’s far more happening beneath the surface of his reality. There are companion novel series’ connected to Zombie Fallout, and they expand on the events in this core saga. But, telling you their titles might spoil some of the world development. If you enjoy brutal survival, with powerful emotional realism and sarcastic humor…
From Chris' list on zompoc (zombie + apocalypse).
Tufo can be hilarious, brutal, and ingenious all at the same time. His Zombie Fallout series is huge with 17 books in the main storyline and a handful of tie-in books. He is continuing the story and more books are on the way. Like some of the best tales in the genre, it starts on “day one” and goes on a wild journey with a lot more than just zombies to contend with. Whoever thought the HOA lady could be so treacherous? Tufo is another of the Godfathers of indie zompoc and is definitely a must-read.
From David's list on zombies from someone who loves old monster movies.
