Book cover of Becoming Supernatural: How Common People are Doing the Uncommon

Virginia Slachman I ❤️ loved this book because...

Dr. Joe Dispenza takes us on a journey into quantum physics and neuroscience research to help us change our brain chemistry, resulting in higher levels of enlightenment and physical as well as mental healing.

Step-by-step, Dr. Dispenza outlines how the biology and spirituality of our mind provides openings into these larger realities, ones we’re so often not aware of, but that we need in order to become who we are most authentically. It’s a book that instructs and educates. And it has set people on a deep journey into a reality that we all have access to, one that can change our lives for the better.

WALL STREET JOURNAL BESTSELLER

Book cover of Buddha's Brain: The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love, and Wisdom

Virginia Slachman I ❤️ loved this book because...

This is a “how-to” book, based research that shows we are what our brains program us to be and that our minds retain “neuroplasticity,” or the ability to change. In other words, at any age, when we change our thoughts and our mental practices, we can change our lives. Good news, indeed!

The book shares research in psychology, neurology, and mindfulness that prove that our ability to choose our thoughts and perspectives is a powerful change agent that can increase our happiness, productivity, and peace. And the book gives step-by-step instructions in how to cultivate productive mind habits. Change your thought, change your life!

5 authors picked Buddha's Brain as one of their favorite books, and they share why you should read it.

What is this book about?

Jesus, Moses, Mohammed, Gandhi, and the Buddha all had brains built essentially like anyone else's, yet they were able to harness their thoughts and shape their patterns of thinking in ways that changed history.

With new breakthroughs in modern neuroscience and the wisdom of thousands of years of contemplative practice, it is possible for us to shape our own thoughts in a similar way for greater happiness, love, compassion, and wisdom.

Buddha's Brain joins the forces of modern neuroscience with ancient contemplative teachings to show readers how they can work toward greater emotional well-being, healthier relationships, more effective actions, and…

Book cover of Mutant Message Down Under

Virginia Slachman I ❤️ loved this book because...

This book has changed people’s lives. Published way back in 2004, the first-person narrative tells the story of a woman called by an indigenous Australian tribe to travel with them and learn their ways. It’s a book that speaks to the soul, not the mind, the heart not the head.

Morgan tells of deeper truths that we in our “civilized” world are in such need of hearing, such as the life-giving power of caring and community. I have given this book to many different sorts of people, and it seems to speak to them all, often in ways I could not have predicted.

Blood in the Bluegrass

By Virginia Slachman,

Book cover of Blood in the Bluegrass

What is my book about?

When Harper’s sister dies, she returns to her family’s Thoroughbred horse racing farm to find the killer and save her stud farm. Then, her racehorses begin dying. As she digs in to find the culprit, the barn with her best Kentucky Derby prospects is set on fire. And when seven skeletons are discovered on the grounds, Harper realizes her life is on the line, too.

The problem is, the bad guy could be anyone—JD, her childhood sweetheart; Marshall, their long-time trainer; or it might be their nasty neighbor, Red Cole, who has been in partnership with her family for generations. Someone is on a killing spree, and though Harper doesn’t know why, she is sure of one thing—the murderer is someone she’s known and trusted her whole life.
