Book cover of The Storyteller's Secret: From TED Speakers to Business Legends, Why Some Ideas Catch On and Others Don't

Paul du Toit ❤️ loved this book because...

Being an author on speaking and a professional speaker / facilitator I've always relied on stories and anecdotes to make a point. This book, flush with great real life examples confirmed that if you can tag a good story to your message it sticks much better. It also shows how every great company needs their story to be told. It's also a fun read.

What is this book about?

How did an American immigrant without a college education go from Venice Beach T-shirt vendor to television's most successful producer? Book cover of I is for Influence

Paul du Toit ❤️ loved this book because...

This book demonstrates that one of the best ways to get what you want in life is to learn the tools of persuasion and Influence. Using solid research, case studies and anecdotes the author convincingly backs up his assertions giving the reader tools that can be easily applied. It was not only hard for me to put it down, but once finished I kept dipping back into it to make sure I internalised the bits that resonated with me.

My 3rd favorite read in 2024

Book cover of The Hitchhiker's Guide to AI

Paul du Toit ❤️ loved this book because...

Published in late 2023 this book really opened my eyes to the positive application of AI. As a content creator myself I had a negative slant toward AI, but this book opened my eyes to techniques of getting AI to do the dog work, allowing me to concentrate my efforts on creativity. The book also gave me perspective regarding how long AI has already been with us, and how to a large extent it controls a great deal of the online content we consume.
