Book cover of A Christmas Promise

Melissa Addey ❤️ loved this book because...

Some Regency romances can tend towards repetitive tropes and a very 'safe' historical setting, but even in a charming, cosy, Christmassy Regency romance Mary Balogh manages to bring in real issues from history and work with them to bring you a deeper understanding of the time, all while melting your heart!

A fascinating look at understanding why our bodies (which are usually fine-tuned to keep us healthy) struggle with modern diets which mess up the internal communication system. This book makes a real impact on how you look at food and what you're willing to put in your mouth.

When foundling Maggie takes a job caring for Edward, she knows him only as a young man declared mad and kept privately under the care of a physician to avoid any scandal for his family.
