Why read it?
3 authors picked XOXO as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?
XOXO is the perfect read when you want something sweet, fun, and lighthearted.
I read this on the airplane and it made time fly by so fast. Following the story of Jenny, a cello prodigy, and Jaewoo, a K-pop star, this book had me smiling from page one. I loved the arts academy setting in South Korea, the personal character arcs, and of course, the swoony love story!
From Sarah's list on YA that take you on a journey through South Korea.
This sweet, slow burn YA romance between a K-pop boy band star and a cello prodigy gave me all the warm fuzzy feels.
I loved the driven heroine, the swoony hero, and their instant chemistry–which is then thrown into conflict when, after he ghosts her, she finds out he’s famous and goes to the prestigious music school she just moved across the world to attend. Oh, and he’s forbidden to date but she’ll see him every day.
My inner teenager was a puddle of squealing joy by the end of this book.
From Katta's list on for pop star lovers.
XOXO has the elements of travel, Kpop, and young love, but what I particularly liked about it was I didn’t have the pull-my-hair moments that some Kdrama-style plots have. I enjoyed Jenny’s plot and the conflict when it was revealed that her romantic interest was more than meets the eye.
From Emem's list on ‘opposites attract’ young love romance.
