This is a fantastic book with vampires, magic, wings, and a female main character that’s realising not everything is as she was led to believe. There wasn’t a moment that I doubted it would be 5 stars. 

One of my favourite things is how she struggles to accept the truth about the people she thought were her family. She also has to ally with a vampire who has a dangerous curiosity for her, and I loved trying to work…

The perfect fantasy romance exists in this book! A deadly competition with a true enemies-to-lovers plot had me begging for the second book.

Carissa’s books are ones that you cannot put down and go to bed thinking about. She is a masterful storyteller. She just got her first book deal, and it is well deserved! 

This is a dark, second world fantasy romance about a human girl taken by a vampire king as his daughter, and the trials she will go through to prove herself. 

At first, the FMC was so cold and unlikable I almost DNF’d the book, but the prose was beautiful, and the world was interesting, so I hung on. It was so worth it. The FMC redeems herself and then some throughout the narrative.
