I love everything Sara Shepard does.
The story kicks off with Emma, a kind-hearted foster kid, discovering she has an identical twin sister named Sutton, who was adopted by a wealthy family. I love thrillers featuring twins. Ever since watching Freaky Friday as a child, I’ve been very interested in books and shows about people switching places. The 2022 series, Echoes, and the 2021 series, I Know What you Did Last Summer, both captivated me with twins trading lives.
In this novel, Emma, who lives in a foster home, sees a video of a girl who looks exactly like her being strangled, starts wondering if this girl is a twin sister she never knew about, and decides to investigate. This book had me up way too late, devouring every word.
