The Last Passenger

More usually writing about crime, this writer here takes a step away in this unusual style. I was hooked from the first page as a woman makes an Atlantic voyage on a liner, waking to find she is the only person on the ship; the other passengers and the crew have vanished.

I loved the mystery, and the peril increasing through what is a classic page-turner; somehow, the writer builds the tension and maintains the credibility as the unusual solution to the mystery unfolds.

Caz is on a cruise with her new partner, Pete, but when she wakes after her first night on board, she finds, to her horror, she is completely alone on the ship. Believe me, when I say that what happens next is utterly unhinged, like Squid Game crossed with The Woman in Cabin 10.

While some of the plot twists can be frustratingly unbelievable at times, this book features some incredibly tense set pieces and a reveal in the ship’s ballroom that is utterly chilling. Once you’ve suspended your disbelief, you’ll absolutely race through this one. It’s an ideal holiday… show more.
