My favorite read in 2023…

Book cover of My Phony Valentine

Toni Shiloh I this book because...

Courtney Walsh came out with some great reads in the past year, so picking my absolute favorite was difficult. However, My Phony Valentine is filled with quotable lines, a granny who brings shenanigans, and a fake-dating romance that had me swoony with delight.

This book made me want to read more of Ms. Walsh and tell all my friends to read her as well. This book also had one of the best meet-cutes I’ve ever read, which set the pace of the story and had me laughing out loud.

This is a rom-com that hits each subgenre evenly and with that writing style that makes you thankful for laugh-out-loud romance.

My 2nd favorite read in 2023…

Book cover of The Thing About Home

Toni Shiloh I this book because...

This book was unexpected and great in so many ways.

I expected to root for the heroine and cheer at her finding her roots. What I didn’t know I wanted was the heart in the journey, the Southern cooking, and just how precious finding your family, your place in a story bigger than you truly are.

Rhonda McKnight knocked this book out of the park with a celebrity heroine who goes down South and finds a reason for waking up every day.

This was so much more than a romance and a read worth reading again.

Why should I read it?

What is this book about?

Home is not a place-it's a feeling.

Casey Black needs an escape. When her picture-perfect vow renewal ceremony ends in her being left at the altar, the former model turned social media influencer has new fame-the kind she never wanted. An embarrassing viral video has cost her millions of followers, and her seven-year marriage is over. With her personal and business lives in shambles, Casey runs from New York City to South Carolina's Lowcountry hoping to find long-lost family. Family who can give her more answers about her past than her controlling mom-slash-manager has ever been willing to share.

My 3rd favorite read in 2023…

Book cover of Love Songs Suck

Toni Shiloh I this book because...

I could not put this book down. I stayed up way too late to read it, but I had to find out how a celebrity singer and a normal heroine could create a life of love together.

There was so much chemistry between the two as they navigated the terms of their fake romance. Some scenes had me laughing, but also scenes that made me a little weepy.

Becky Monson hit all the emotion, and I was there for it. In fact, I might have to reread it soon.

Don‘t forget about my book 😀

The Love Script

By Toni Shiloh,

What is my book about?

Lamont Booker's bold faith has gained him a platform, and the authenticity of his faith is well known. Until the tabloids cause the world to question everything he claims to be. With his reputation on the line, he finds himself hearing out his agent's push for a fake relationship--something he never thought he'd consider in a million years.

A love that goes off-script.

With their careers at risk, Nevaeh and Lamont have to convince the world that their scripted romance is more than just an act. But when fake seems to turn into something real, can Nevaeh trust her heart in a world where nothing is ever as it seems?
