Why read it?
4 authors picked The Map of Consciousness Explained as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?
This book helped me understand how emotions map to conscious behavior and the biofeedback that's been scientifically proven through thousands of testings to better understand human consciousness. It is not a light book, but I enjoyed Sir David's sense of humor as he talked through the chapters and gave me greater appreciation for personal development to better understand my emotional field and how it impacts not just myself but everyone else.
By exploring the different levels of consciousness and how they manifest in our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, you will gain insights into your patterns of communication and how they impact the people around you.
It teaches you to be more mindful of your interactions with others, how to be more present and attentive in conversations, and to be able to see how you are perceived when communicating. And as you raise your level of consciousness, you will naturally become a more intentional, empathic, and compassionate communicator.

Just being aware of this has enabled me to make some serious mind shifts when I…

Although this book is not a ‘yoga’ text per se, it does outline the transformation of human consciousness in a way that is totally aligned with yoga philosophy. I found the explanation of the vibratory states of various levels of consciousness such as shame, desire, anger, joy to be fascinating, and the practical suggestions for applying theory into daily life have far-reaching effect. He also includes a section on addiction and the consciousness of recovery which is wonderful.
