When Claire’s abusive, powerful politician husband sends her out of town, she intends to use the opportunity to leave him and disappear. But a last-minute itinerary change foils her plans and alerts her husband that she intends to leave him.

In a chance encounter, she meets Eva, who is also looking to escape. Thinking they can solve each other’s problem, the two women swap identities and tickets and board the other’s plane. But Eva’s plane crashes, leaving no survivors. Claire realizes the tragedy might be her true ticket to freedom —until she discovers the secrets Eva left behind.

Perhaps don’t choose this one if you are getting on a flight, otherwise—read it now! Two women are desperate to escape their lives. They both come up with plans that involve brave cunning and sheer determination—but a twist of fate makes those plans collide. The author keeps the twists coming (I was so impressed) and you won’t guess them all (even more impressed). It’s gripping, page-turning, fascinating—and everyone I’ve recommended this book to has also loved it!

Motherhood is not a universal woman's experience: some women don't want to be mothers and some women are unable to be mothers. But being disrespected, overlooked, and exploited is a universal woman's experience. I found this to be a gripping book about women trying to break free from those experiences, in tightly intertwined tales.
