I grew up on a peculiar diet of the classics and horror. So, when I wasn't reading Little Women, I was reading Pet Sematary, and I have been a horror fan ever since. The Drift is one of the best of recent years, in my opinion.

Talk about a masterclass in suspense. There's the wry humour that I love with my horror and the astute observations and relatable characters. It's a world that is far removed from our every day and yet felt all too familiar at the same time.

The Drift combines two elements of my other favorites, setting the post-apocalyptic story in (and above) a snowy wasteland, so get a refill on that hot cocoa.
