Why read it?

3 authors picked The Dead Romantics as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

Ashley Poston’s The Dead Romantics balanced the comedy of its premise (a woman who can see the dead and helps them) with emotional storylines revolving around guilt, loss, and the remembrance of things past.

The main character, Florence, takes the reader on a journey of rediscovering her passion for life and her power, which correlated closely with the journey I wrote for January in my book. As a central theme in the book, the power of grief to control and paralyze us is a truth the book tackles with such grace and heart.

I found myself break out into tears…

A disillusioned ghostwriter must find her way back home, literally and figuratively, in this story about a woman who has lost her belief in love despite being a ghostwriter for a romance author.

I was drawn to this novel because I was once a ghostwriter for elite athletes and had my own experience with professional disillusionment. This story is full of charm as Florence Day grapples with loss while simultaneously dealing with a confused ghost who has her doubting everything she once believed about love.

Sweet and poignant without a single misstep!

I loved how this story combined paranormal elements with romance and family dynamics.

The snappy, quirky dialogue made me laugh out loud more than once, and Florence’s inner chaotic monologue felt all too relatable at times. A fresh, unique love story with much more to offer than simply being “fluff.”

From L.E.'s list on romance with “more”.
