Why read it?

7 authors picked The Celestine Prophecy as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

It was very exciting. The book is about coincidences/synchronicities and being guided by signs, visions, and feelings. I was already caught up in a spiritual path when this book appeared, and it was like a whirlwind time for me. I was led into many different studies, eventually returning to Christianity. This book was close to the beginning of a journey that began 30 years ago.

This book, though, opened my eyes to the connection between a higher intelligence and yourself. Its magnificent guidance led me, which I still rely on today. I swear that that ability has saved me daily…

I was blown away when I read this book! I loved the adventure and twists and turns and how it made me think. I couldn’t believe what I was reading, and I think I’ve spent all my time since then trying to figure out what it was talking about.

This book is the reason I have been inspired into my own spiritual journey and adventure, and I have also done a lot of traveling, all because of this book. I also know lots of other people who quote this book as the book that started it all.

From Andrew's list on spiritual allegory.

I have been reading the Celestine Prophecy since about 1996. The overarching story is that there is more at work in life than just what we understand firsthand. The concept that there are no true coincidences and that most things happen for a reason and lead us to a place where we should be able to fulfill the purpose of our life in any given moment is the biggest takeaway.

I also enjoy the theme that people need to understand what motivates them, and this book does this by using a fable story to bring clear context to these and…

From Brian's list on books for a wandering eclectic mind.

I'm a Sagittarius. Promise me a journey that takes me to a far-away land, which along the way initiates into some secrets of our existence, and I will not resist the call. This book is a wonderful blend of adventure and mysticism. It reveals a world that you can access once you open your senses for the perception of energies.

I loved this book so much that I named my forest retreat in the Northern Highlands of Hungary Little Viciente. In the book, Viciente is a place of high vibrational energy located somewhere in the Andes Mountains of Peru.

Prior to reading this book, I had always been struck by how seemingly random events in my life followed a pattern that, upon closer inspection, pointed me in a certain direction.

It suggested that we are each on a spiritual path that becomes apparent when we peel back the seeming randomness of events to reveal an underlying direction toward a spiritual destination. A single momentous sign could occur all at once, but more likely, signs are broken up into discrete individual experiences, leading from one to the next.

This pattern is distinctly revealed to the hero of The Celestine Prophecy,…

This book became a cult classic for good reason.

I stumbled upon it by accident and could not put it down. It’s an evolution in thought and completely changed my way of thinking. As a motivational speaker I understand the power of story-telling to impart messages. James Redfield is a master at immediately capturing the readers attention with a story that cannot make you put the book down.

In summary, it’s a thrilling adventure with an incredible insights which are more pertinent today than ever before.

This book opened my mind and planted a quality seed that took a long time to germinate. When I read it so long ago, I was oblivious to the realms of energy and consciousness, and it was incredibly exciting to feel the resonance of truth in the pages… to know there’s something more. Nowadays it’s very simplistic because of how consciousness has moved on, but it was groundbreaking at the time. It carries real power to have rocked human consciousness to the extent it did, and bump us along the road of awakening. The story and writing are simple but…
