Persuader

I’m on a Jack Reacher binge right now, and Persuader is definitely one of the better ones in the series. It’s unputdownable. These books are my go-to for passing the time—whether I’m running errands or waiting for my son. Honestly, I actually look forward to the waiting because it means more Reacher.
Some might not consider this genre high literature, but I don’t care—it’s pure entertainment with a few takeaways. Sure, Reacher’s adventures are wildly fictional and impossible in real life, but his relentless, never-give-up attitude is truly inspiring. A woman once asked me what book character I would most like to be. I answered "Jack Reacher" without giving it a second's thought. When she asked me why, I responded, "You haven't read a Jack Reacher book, have you?" She shook her head. "How did you know?" "Because it you had, you wouldn't have asked me why."

First of all, I like these unrealistic, larger-than-life heroes. Jack Reacher is big and strong, honorable and idealistic, an alpha male with a soft heart. No matter what happens, I know that Jack Reacher is going to win.

The stories are always good even though some of the details are often off key. This story was particularly inventive, especially the beginning. Reacher prevents a kidnapping when he shoots two kidnappers and a policeman. After he brings the victim to the victim’s father’s house, the father hires him.
