Hush, Hush

I love the way this book turns the fallen angel genre on its head. It is a fun, darker paranormal read with a sweet, hopeless romance thrown in.

The characters are well-written, the pacing is perfect, and the ending makes me download the next book immediately. As a fun, light, high school-type read, this one sweeps the category.

Bad boy meets broken girl. Need I say more?

Patch is a fallen angel who has a bully romance type personality. Something about his sudden fierce care for Nora makes me almost wish I’d suffered the trials within this love story. This is the series that really opened the doors for me to love and adore fantasy characters over humans.

Hush, Hush is a trilogy about a romance between an angel and a human. For this fallen angel to get his wings and be allowed back in Heaven, he has to kill the human, who happens to be his soul mate and who he is madly in love with. The twists keep coming, the plot gets more intriguing and nail-biting the further we get into the book, and the love story between Patch and Nora can give Bella and Edward a run for their money in the most forbidden but hot love story contest.

This is a really cool novel. As far as Mystical Being protagonists, this is the first book I’ve read to utilize fallen angels. And the author uses that theme extremely well throughout the story. And I really enjoy the main character, Nora. She is this lovely strong, snappy girl, devoid of the usual tropes of imperfection and self-doubt that you generally get with the lead girl. Then there’s Patch, her hot, ethereal counterpart. He’s dangerous and dark, but also very sassy, which is fun for a male lead.
