Why read it?

3 authors picked Golden Girl as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

Ever since my mother passed away on her favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, I’ve been obsessed with how much control we might actually have in life and beyond. So, Golden Girl’s story of Vivian getting to watch her children and even make some changes after her passing was right up my alley!

I found myself identifying with her as she watched, worried, and decided when and how to alter the course of events. And who doesn’t have a few secrets they want to keep hidden? I saw what happened to my family after losing my mother and wondered what mom would say…

From the moment I heard the premise for this book, I was intrigued.

Who doesn’t want to believe the people we’ve loved and lost are still watching out for us from the other side? As usual, Hilderbrand delivers with a story that’s both heartbreaking and hopeful.

It left me considering whether those looking out for us can nudge us in the right direction, like the guardian angels we hope they are.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Golden Girl. We all would like to know what happens after we die, will we be able to see, communicate with our loved ones? Will we have opportunities to guide them along the way? Mostly, will we have the power to stop them from hurting themselves? Golden Girl takes us on an emotional journey after the death of a promising writer.
