Why read it?

3 authors picked Fiber Fueled as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

This is a book all about gut health, and how the microbiome and the foods that either nurture it, or harm it, can heal or injure your gut. As a physician, I know how miserable intestinal distress can be for someone who suffers from it. Written by Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, a gastroenterologist, Fiber Fueled (and its follow-up cookbook) will answer almost every question you’ve ever had about how to heal your gut with food.

From William's list on to help you eat to beat disease.

Dr. Will Bulsiewicz is a board-certified gastroenterologist and gut health expert. In his book, he will teach you how to optimize your gut microbiome by choosing foods that encourage the gut-bug species you want to thrive. If you’ve struggled with gut health, this book can help you heal. If you’ve spent time removing food after food from your diet, thinking avoidance is the key to better gut health, he can teach you how to safely reintroduce foods rather than eliminate more and more “problematic” foods.

This book is very concise and a terrific summary of information regarding plant-based eating *and* gut health/gut bugs. Bulsiewicz also manages to be charming, entertaining, friendly, and not being too serious (other books on gut health/fiber/plant-based diets are often boring and dry, if not tedious to read. This book is engaging and fun to read!) If someone was interested in switching to a plant-based or plant-centered diet as well or wanted something a bit more youthful and upbeat with a food plan at the end, then I would suggest this as a first book.

From Lindsay's list on vegan health.
