Book cover of The Angel of Indian Lake

Ryan Jordan Gutierrez ❤️ loved this book because...

This is the final entry in the Indian Lake Trilogy. Seeing Jade Daniels' character grow and come to terms with her trauma and her role in the horrors that gripped Proofrock, Idaho has been a real treat. Stephen Graham Jones lands the dismount with an intense, but fitting and poignant ending to her story.

What is this book about?

Discover the Christian roots of the values we prize in western society. TGC and Christianity Today 2022 Book Award Winner in Evangelism & Apologetics.

Is Christianity history? Or is Christian history the deepest explanation of the modern world?

Today in the west, many consider the church to be dead or dying. Christianity is seen as outdated, bigoted and responsible for many of society’s problems. This leaves many believers embarrassed about their faith and many outsiders wary of religion. But what if the Christian message is not the enemy of our modern Western values, but the very thing that makes sense…

My 3rd favorite read in 2024

Book cover of What Lies Between Us

Ryan Jordan Gutierrez ❤️ loved this book because...

This book is an almost perfect psychological thriller. The way the narration switches back and forth between Nina and Maggie, neither of which is a truly reliable narrator, makes it so that you don't even know who to root for. As the truth unfurls, you get caught up in a wild, emotional ride.

For Brennan Ramirez, that question is no longer hypothetical.

What he wants more than anything is to give his loving wife, Deidre, and his little girl a good life. Life has too many variables, people are more than characters in his story, and time does not want to change. The true question is no longer, "What if you could go back to the past?"
