Why read it?
2 authors picked Across the Universe as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?
A love story for the ages, set inside of a giant spaceship! Amy wakes up from cryogenic sleep only to fall for a boy she was never supposed to meet… Add in great writing, a murder mystery, and the dark vacuum of space, and you’ve got every ingredient for a timeless young adult journey. Amy + Elder forever.
From A.N.'s list on YA sci-fi/fantasy with a swoon-inducing love story.
I read this book a very long time ago but what I do remember is that the humans were supposed to be in stasis for over a century until they reached their predetermined inhabitable planet. But something went wrong and Amy woke up too soon to discover someone is trying to kill her. What I loved about the book was the habitation and community they had set up in the space shit. The science used to keep a living habitat as close to as natural as they could to keep the living crew alive on the ship. Science for me…
From Carlyle's list on sci-fi as a way of explaining the angelic creation.
