The premise is immediately intriguing, and especially interesting to anyone familiar with traveling on commercial airlines. Once introduced, the author does not leave the reader hanging regarding her characters; in fact, the depth of each character is thoroughly expanded. I found it impossible to put down for want of learning the many outcomes.

From the mid-nineties to the early two thousands, I spent much of my free time hiking mountains all over the northeast United States. I have been lost both alone and with groups in the Catskills, Adirondacks, and White Mountains. Katahdin, the mountain on which the subject of this story was lost, is in a wilderness I have traveled.
