“Boldly plotted, tightly knotted—a provocative true-or-false thriller that deepens and darkens to its ink-black finale. Marvelous.” —AJ Finn, author of The Woman in the Window

The twists! The turns! The head-spinning lies! The problem with being an author is that I often know within a few pages exactly how a book will end. Although it doesn’t bother me (because the journey is just as important as the destination, in my opinion), it’s always really exciting when I come across a book where I have no clue WTF is going on.
The layers of deception, half-truths, lies, manipulations…they had me wondering where on earth this was going. I defy anyone to work out everything that’s going on.

This was my first foray in Alice Feeney’s writing and it will not be my last.
The many twists and turns make this a well-crafted whodunit. I’ll admit, I still don’t think I get the ending - but that did not detract from my love for this book. I was left questioning everything that happened…in a good way.

The first thing that stood out for me about this book is that the narrator is in a coma – scared of the people who are supposed to love her, but unable to defend herself. The second thing is the title. Sometimes I Lie sets you up for an unreliable narrator, which I love in a thriller – especially when you’re not quite sure who is even telling the story at certain points in the book. This is a clever thriller that manipulates your thinking constantly. I found my loyalties constantly changing, which meant I could never quite trust anyone…

There are three things that I thought of while reading this book.
1. Ok it can't be that simple, but did he really do it?
2. I can't wait to find out where this is leading. I wonder if I've got it figured out.
3. Ok, I didn't have it figured out, what? Just What?
Insert an audible gasp when that twist happened, I absolutely did not see that coming. This is the kind of book that inspires me to dig deeper into myself when writing my own books, and I love it. The development in this book is superb.…
