Why read it?

1 author picked Anson Jones as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

I highly recommend Anson Jones the Last President of Texas to anyone researching the Republic of Texas (1836-1846). The story details how Jones behind the scenes maneuvering for Texas Annexation was almost sabotaged by Sam Houston. The story has a true but sad ending to Jones’ life. Gambrell does an excellent job…
