Book cover of Flower and Thorn

Deby Fredericks I ❤️ loved this book because...

The setting of historic India is fascinating and the author really brought it to life with authenticity. There's a sexy villain and I was proud of the heroine for resisting his advances. I also really enjoyed the unique magic built into rare flowers.

By Django Wexler,

Why should I read it?

1 author picked How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying as one of their favorite books, and they share why you should read it.

What is this book about?

Groundhog Day meets Deadpool in Django Wexler’s raunchy, hilarious, blood-splattered fantasy tale about a young woman who, tired of defending humanity from the Dark Lord, decides to become the Dark Lord herself.

"Takes the old saying 'If you can't beat 'em, join 'em,' to the next level. A sarcastic, action-packed, intrigue-filled (mis)adventure. One of the funniest books I've read in a long time."--Matt Dinniman, author of Dungeon Crawler Carl

Davi has done this all before. She’s tried to be the hero and take down the all-powerful Dark Lord. A hundred times she’s rallied humanity and made the final charge. But…

The Tale of the Drakanox

By Deby Fredericks,

Book cover of The Tale of the Drakanox

What is my book about?

**Caution! This is the culminating volume in the Minstrels of Skaythe series. If you want to read it in order, start with The Tower in the Mist.**

It was just an old story.

There couldn't really be a lost civilization based on trust and equality. Not when the Wizard-King Dar-Gothull rules Skaythe through cruelty and terror.

But when Ar-Thea told the story of the Shining Ones to her six magelings, the legend took root in their hearts. For years, they traveled the land as Minstrels. Through stories and song, they offered light and hope in dark times.

Now their secrets have been laid bare. The Minstrels flee as the regime gathers its forces to crush them. Yet there is hope. Deep in the cursed Hornwood, there is an incredible power that only the Minstrels can use. It is guarded by a terrible beast — the drakanox! The Minstrels must call on every ally and avoid every enemy if they hope to recover what has long been lost.
