The God of the Woods

As a child who went to sleep away camp, I was immediately immersed in this mystery centered at a summer camp in the Adirondacks. Moore's writing is brilliant, and each character made their mark, evoking a full range of emotions. The novel ran the gamut: visual, evocative, and suspenseful. I flipped pages fast, but at the same time, savored every word.

This book had pitch-perfect characters. I was able to fully inhabit their thoughts and feelings and this was done masterfully for a wide range of characters. I loved the world of the book, and I could not read it fast enough to find out what happened.

There's nothing better than reading an ambitious, deeply immersive mystery that's flawlessly executed, too. This one will go down as a favorite of all time.
