Why read it?

1 author picked Hopefully the Scarecrow as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

This picture book literally made me cry, it's so packed with emotion. In just a few hundred words, the author manages to convey true friendship, loneliness, hope, and love. It has a very subtle didactic message that kids will take away with them, without feeling like it's being forced. I love the simplicity of the plot, it's one that kids can relate to easily.
