Fantasy romance is a broad genre that simply captivates and enthralls me. The combination of romance, passion, action, humor, magic, mystery, and drama ignites this spark in my heart, filling my metaphorical cup of happiness. But what makes these books so amazing is the strong female perspective they are told from. It’s not making tough decisions or embodying their masculine energies that make them strong. It’s their ability to balance dealing with external conflicts while struggling with self-confidence and loving others so completely that makes them such incredible women to read. The incongruous premise of this book absolutely drew me into it so hard. Vampires with Southern accents living in the modern world where they’ve come out of the coffin? Add to that a female protagonist with a supernatural gift that she has no idea how or why she has? Charlaine, take my money.

This book had a main character who had a major flaw – she couldn’t allow herself to feel emotions otherwise she’d be outcast from her own kind.
She was a strong female lead but strong in a way that almost destroyed her. It was a great premise for a book with a romance at the centre. But it wasn’t only romance, there was a big mystery to solve making this an addictive read.

I listened to this series on audiobook a few years ago and it had me in stitches the whole time.

This book is a little different in the sense that I feel like it’s somewhat darker, but it’s still a favorite of mine. I loved Vivian. She wants what she wants and knows how to get it. Wolf Girl reminded me of a Werewolf Bachelor. One guy. Lots of women. All of them werewolves. This story was unique and unlike anything I’d ever read before. I loved Demi’s sassiness and Sawyer was definitely swoony. I’m warning you beforehand though, it does have a hellacious cliffhanger.
