A fantastic, engaging read! I loved it even more when I got to the afterword and found that it was based on a true story.

It’s the story of a woman named Deborah, nicknamed Rob, who dresses as a boy to join the Revolutionary War because she’s passionate about the cause and has nothing else left in her life to live for. While there, she encounters the widower of her best friend, who never met her and so doesn’t know what she looks like. She falls in love with him, but of course, he doesn’t know she’s a woman.

Rob’s…

I have a girl-crush on Amy Harmon. Full stop. Period. She writes these sweeping, historical, amazing romances that I can’t put down and I’m completely hateful and jealous of her writing prowess.

And I’ll be even more honest and say that I don’t know anything (shameful!) about the Revolutionary War, and this book manages to give a history lesson couched in a love story.

So, thank you for that. In addition, it portrays a fictionalized account of a real woman who dresses as a boy to fight as a soldier, proving once again that if a job needs done right,…

I love a great historical fiction, and Amy Harmon did not disappoint.

It follows the life of Deborah Samson, a young woman dressed as a man so she can fight in the American Revolutionary War.

Her character development is amazing, and how Harmon wove all of the character storylines together was masterfully done. The love story was simply beautiful, and I will say that, as someone who loves history but isn’t big on war stories, this one had me obsessively listening.

I felt so many emotions reading this and could not put it down. The narration of this audiobook was…

Did you know that lap babies (children under the age of two) are instructed to be placed on the floor of a plane during an emergency? Sounds crazy, but it’s true.

Julie Geiger, a flight attendant, told five sets of parents to do just that. Now she must live with the consequences. Will changing the rules bring her healing and forgiveness? And where does love fit into her life now?
