Because he is only two, Mommy has to do some guessing here as to why he likes this book so much. His older brother and sister like it, and it is one they have been able to read to him even before he was born.

I believe there is comfort in the rhyme and simplicity of the story, but in a beautiful way that helps him to fall asleep.

This is also one of the first books where we were able to have him be part of the reading experience, so as I read it to him and say, “Goodnight to the old lady whispering…” he will say “Hush” in a whispered tone.

It is adorable and so sweet. He also loves Goodnight Baseball, but Goodnight Moon is a must-have at bedtime.

The First Lady of the United States is a challenging role that has been navigated by an incredibly wide array of women over the years. Brower has interviewed many of them, and the insights she gives readers into their day-to-day lives—at turns uplifting and heartbreaking—make for an incredibly relatable and inspiring book. This is as behind-the-White House-scenes as you can get. From Jaqueline Kennedy to Michelle Obama, Brower offers an incredibly intimate look at this often misunderstood role in American politics.

I love this crazy, silly book. The plot will captivate the children’s attention as there are so many twists and turns throughout the story. Are the grandmas really grandmas or are they aliens? How will they solve this mystery? The use of rhyme adds to the flow and humour of the tale. Illustrations are imaginative and off the wall funny. The ending is priceless. I think there definitely should be a sequel.

I was so taken by the first handsome volume of Soldiers’ Stories that I submitted stories for this one. The Wilson family story is laid out so well across eleven pages of this treasure. Five brothers served. Only two came home.

There are stories of men and women from every branch of the service, some who survived, some who did not. The memoirs are written by the veterans themselves, by family members, or interested friends.

It’s very much the story of a nerdy awkward girl pining after the handsome jock, and is full of sweet moments. I love the similarities between it and 10 Things I Hate About You and the nods to other 90’s rom coms.

I’m a sucker for the enemies-to-lovers trope, and it was fun to watch a young female character fall in love but also learn to stand up for herself.

This book changed the way I was living my life. It literally changed the words I used to speak about my future plans/goals and made me want to dream big. It leads you to make the connection between what we think and what shows up in our lives. This was an epiphany moment for me. That, we are, who we spend time with, the books we read, and the TV we watch. And thus, the people around us become mirrors of ourselves. It made me examine my thoughts on a minute-to-minute basis and ultimately start living in the present moment. It introduces you to the benefits of daily gratitude and of being of service to others.

This picture book truly shows the importance of art and how it can empower kids when they see themselves in art. This is one reason why I like writing picture books! Art can speak volumes when the viewer connects, and this story of an African American child named Parker seeing Michele Obama as a queen in her portrait is so beautiful in many ways. You’ll be inspired to bring your child to an art museum.

I picked up It Starts with Us and was instantly drawn into the narrative. I think the characters' authenticity and their battles with real-world issues made the story relatable.

I am sure anyone who's navigated the waters of love and loss will see a reflection of their own experiences. The narrative, with its raw emotions and an underlying note of hope, makes it a heart-tugging read that leaves a lasting impact. The book also opens up conversations about important but often unspoken topics, making it a worthy read
