To protect his people from the Northmen, Aedan makes a bargain. He will find the daughter of the chief who went missing ten years ago and return her to her father, in exchange for his people that are hostages. Best laid plans change from kidnapped to warrior, when Dagmar once again confronts her father and fights for the man she loves. Will he fight for her in return? A non-stop emotional rollercoaster of a young woman who learns to trust a man as honest and strong as she is. You won't want to put it down.

I read this book and found it OK. Learned a couple of things about that era. So a decent story.

I really enjoyed this book. It's in a era and place we don't normally read about (Vikings) which made it unique. It reminded me of the old-school romances from the 80s & 90s which I greatly miss. However, the heroine was super tough. She would be the perfect role model for young women.

Two fabulous protagonists, forced together by circumstances - what's not to like? This is my first "Viking read", but not my first Michelle Styles. She is a superb author, who writes excellent novels inhabited by great characters. Another winner!
