Nancy Lindgren is a national speaker, author, and the Founder and CEO of MORE Mentoring, whose mission is to inspire women to love and encourage others through prayer-focused mentoring. Nancy has authored/co-authored a series of seven books called Together — A Mentoring Guide for Mentors & Mentees. She has also created a process for churches wanting to start a mentoring ministry and a course for training mentors. Nancy has over 35 years of experience in mentoring and loves coaching and consulting with those who desire to grow in their mentoring relationships. Nancy and her husband, Mark, are empty-nesters who have made their home in the Colorado mountains where life is a little sweeter.

This is not just another book on mentoring! Instead, it is just packed full of useful approaches that can be easily implemented just in your everyday life, even if you don't have a "formal" mentoring relationship with someone. And Nancy uses many real-life stories to illustrate how these simple methods and tools have changed lives for the better. You can clearly see and feel her heart for helping and guiding women (and men) in connecting in meaningful ways. As I continued reading, I was more and more struck by how even a small investment into someone's life can make a huge difference! I believe this is exactly what Paul was talking about in Titus 2 when he was describing the impact of interactions between the "older" and the "younger" (spiritual as well as physical age). Nancy has simply, yet powerfully, written a manual on exactly how Paul's instructions can be lived out in the church! I highly recommend this truly practical book, as well as the many other great tools Nancy and MORE Mentoring produce to support both individuals and churches in this beautiful process of mentoring.

Nancy’s new book Mentoring Made Real shares a powerful solution to the unheard, unmet and unreal relational void we are seeing in our world inside and outside the church. This resource is an easy to read encouragement and challenge to young and the not as young, to be engaged in authentic connection by listening, encouraging, loving and praying. We need the reminder in this book! We are designed by our Creator God for connection with Himself and with one another. Jesus displayed it with His Father for us and proved we too can have peace and His power amid the storm when we are walking alongside Jesus Christ relationally. My favorite chapter is Chapter 11 Real Transformation. Having used the MORE MENTORING Mentor Guide some 5 years ago alongside a mentee consistently for months, the transformation in us both was welcomed and celebrated. Nancy’s path has been paved in prayer and connection to Jesus Christ-her Mentor (and ours!) and she is encouraging us all to walk alongside her. Put your YES on and take her challenge. The investment is a heavenly one that pays dividends. Personally, I have known Nancy since college, prayed for our own young adults when they were going to that college years later. I have served on MORE’s leadership team and recently served alongside the leadership team to reproduce a mentoring ministry at our church in Minnesota. The space here is too small to convey how blessed this ministry is, from the people involved to the people who will become involved. God’s provision through this book and the many other materials MORE produces are for His Reknown and for our Refocus to what is crucially important.
