Rain Anderson can't decide which is more unsettling--encountering the ghost of her missing friend, or reuniting with the man whose love she foolishly rejected. But one thing is certain: the past has come back to haunt her, quite literally.

Five years ago, Rain's tight-knit group of high school friends unraveled when one vanished during their senior year. Now, a parent's deathbed request has reunited the friends at Silver Lake, including Jason Lansing, the man Rain discarded.

Rain and Jason discover the powerful attraction between them has survived, but though Jason is willing to forgive, he can't let himself forget. The possibility of falling for Rain again is too risky.

Slamming doors, crashing objects, flaring fires--clearly the ghost has a message to share. As Rain and Jason struggle to unravel the truth, they must face a desperate spirit in need of help--and a burning passion that refuses to die.

A #1 Kindle BestsellerReader's Crown Award Finalist in Paranormal Romance - Romcon 2013

"Mystery mixed with romance makes for an intense and satisfying read.
Silver Lake has both elements perfectly balanced throughout. One never detracts from, but actually embellishes the other. Great characterization made me care about this vulnerable protagonist. And, of course, Jason Lansing makes a wonderful hero, both sharp-edged and gentle, he's a man neither Rain or I could resist." -Between the Pages Spotlight Review(four stars)

"
Silver Lake is part mystery, romance, and even a visit from the paranormal, all around a great, satisfying read. There's times when I'm startled in the book, firstly, by the ghostly visitor that keeps hanging around...yes, I read this at night, which meant I got a little jumpy. I was pretty surprised at the ending and it totally caught me off guard...this is a well-written story with believable characters, and the mystery is strong. I enjoyed the romance blossoming between Rain and Jason...Looking forward to more from Ms. Knight." - Storm Goddess Book Reviews (four stars)

An enthralling, spooky read, Silver Lake was a page-turner from the beginning!

*Notice: I do not give out spoilers!*

Having read Kathryn Knight’s novel Gull Harbor, I was excited when Silver Lake was re-released on Amazon e-Book. She didn’t disappoint! Silver Lake was as enthralling as Gull Harbor…romance, mystery, and of course, ghosts, this novel was a page-turner from the very beginning!
Five years after her best friend Brandy goes missing, a newly divorced Rain Anderson has been given a chance to discover the past – by Brandy’s mother. The woman is dying of cancer, and she wants closure before she leaves this earth: what happened to her daughter?
Having been given a cabin at Silver Lake for the summer, Rain contacts their intimate group of friends that knew Brandy best. Lately, Brandy had been tormenting all of them in their dreams, and Rain thinks if they all come together, they can help put their friend at peace. However, Rain’s nervous about this high school reunion. Five years ago, she left Jason, her best friend, with a broken heart. She’s hoping after all these years that Jason has forgiven her.
For the past three years, Jason Lansing has thought of nothing but his work. Straight out of college, he started his own Karate institute, and it has become his whole life. His live-in girlfriend, Cara, is hardly a presence in his life anymore; and he’s haunted by dreams of their friend. When his high school crush gets in touch to spend a few weeks of the summer out at their teenage hangout, Silver Lake, Jason decides that perhaps he needs to do this…to finally put the past behind him, including Rain. He didn’t anticipate that he’d fall for Rain yet again.
Rain has the house for the whole summer, and she arrives first – as does Brandy’s ghost. When Jason, A.J., and Allie all show up, the house is riddled with weird happenings – puddles of water on the floor, broken windows, a near-drowning experience – the friends all agree that they have to discover what really happened to Brandy all those years ago, for their own sanity.

Silver Lake was a good read. I sort of figured it out in the first half of the book, but the excitement and mystery that led to the end result was well worth the time. Jason and Rain’s reuniting romance and their spicy chemistry was definitely worth the read, and I really liked their story. Silver Lake seems like a magical place, and Kathryn Knight has a knack for eerie description. She sets the scene beautifully, and you feel like you’re there with the characters as Brandy wreaks havoc on the house.
I think this Ms. Knight’s first novel, and I did like her second book, Gull Harbor, better. However, I love her writing style, and Silver Lake was definitely worth the time and money to read.

I usually don't go for books like this. I am not really into the paranormal, however, I really did enjoy this book. Was mixed with a little mystery and some romance. Certain parts of the story were told by the character themselves, a younger version of themselves. It kept my attention and was easy to follow. I good read.

This was a bit of a tedious read, but I did like the characters and the story was interesting. I like a good ghost story. The end was kind of wrapped up quickly, but overall it kept me reading.

I am not sure what I was expecting, as this is Ms. Knight's first published novel, but let me say, I am really looking forward to the next one. Romance not being my main focus in reading selections, I was pleasantly surprised when I finally shut the book.

The premise of the book is pretty straight forward, High School friends get together after a five year hiatus to try and solve the mysterious disappearance of their friend. The characters are developed at a leisurely pace which is nice. You get a chance to learn about each of them as the story progresses. This keeps the mystery going throughout the pages. In the end, I felt that I knew each one of them as well as they knew each other.

As far as the mystery is concerned, the clues are subtle. There are several times that you are thrown off the track and you start to questions certain clues and whether they pertain to the story or not. I really enjoyed the pace of the storytelling. It had a very nice flow and wrapped up very nicely.

As far as the "Paranormal" side of the story, you do not have to take much of a leap of faith to believe. I think this is because the main character, Rain, is in somewhat a state of disbelief as well. The descriptions of what she is hearing and seeing (or what she believes she may be hearing and seeing) are done quite well. While personally I have not made up my mind about the paranormal, the author made me believe in what was being described.

This story could have ended in several different ways; however I liked the direction and conclusion it took. The book was an enjoyable read and as I wrote earlier, I am really looking forward to the next one. If Ms. Knight were an experienced author, with 7 or 8 novels under her belt, I would rate this 9/10. Since this is her first published work, I have to give her a 12! Thanks you for a very enjoyable read.

It'll be a great summer read. Not overly scary, not tedious with exposition, no uncomfortably graphic sex scenes--just an easy, laid back read. We can identify with the characters and the things we believed were important when we were in high school...and finding out differently later on. Enjoyed it!

Wonderful, Light, Romantic with a paranormal mystery thrown in!! This is really not my genre of reading material but from the moment I picked up this book I could't put it down. The main characters are best friends who after there senior year at school parted. All with different issues but the one main issue is what happened to there friend Brandy? Over 5years later it seems that there all haveing similar distrubing dreams about Brandy and Rain is contacted by Brandy's Mom to get everyone together to solve the mystery. The 4 friends get together at a cabin that use to belong to AJ(one of the friends). Rain is to stay there all summer and the other 3 are to meet back for weekends to try to solve the mystery. Well with 2 ladies and 2 gentleman an old love obsession and of course a ghost trying to get her story out make for a wonderful mystery and the romance is definitely not lacking. Like I said I couldn't put it down. My only negative is I was hoping it to continue I wanted more. For a first time author this was truely a gem and can't wait to read more of her books!! I'm recomending this book to my 23yo daughter, I believe she would love this!!
