Green Gryphon: Mackenzie Green Book 1 (Mackenzie Green Series) Kindle Edition
The Dragon Protector asking Mackenzie for a favor—Maybe the sky truly has fallen...
Mackenzie works for Catch and Release, a bounty-hunting guild, and she loves her job.
She goes after the usual suspects: Rogue vampires, feral shifters, and crazed mages. Nightmare stuff.
The last thing she ever imagined was Lucan, an infuriating and high-ranking dragon shifter, hiring her to find a child kidnapped from his Tribe.
Even though her magical talents lean more towards bodyguarding and hunting dangerous beings, condemning a kid to death isn’t who she is.
But as Mackenzie gets deeper into her hunt, she uncovers deadly secrets surrounding the child, the kidnapper, and Lucan himself...
One thing’s for sure; when the going gets tough, Mackenzie gets dangerous!

- “By fifteen, the assignments changed. I was fast becoming the terror of the magical community. The name they’d given me was enough to bring nightmares to supernatural children. I was Terra.” I tensed as Quinn and Tollas reacted as I’d feared. Fear radiated off them. It shone in their eyes. They finally realized… I was their boogieman.Highlighted by 84 Kindle readers

In a world of magic, shifters and vampires the world building is uniquely beautiful and I promise there is lots of action but there is also plenty of whimsy and love.
This is a family friendly book for all ages and ratings with no language to cringe over and alas while there are no steamy parts, I confess I stayed rooted to my chair until I read the entire book, so have snacks and drinks close to hand.
I am absolutely thrilled to discover another author for my collections.
But other than that it had full plot, nice characters and building. It was one of the rare few on KU that even with the slow parts is worth a read.
Mackenzie Green is a human mage, working for a Hunter Guild as a “Lifer” - she only brings in people alive.
When a case goes a little haywire, she meets the dragon protector, a dragon shifter who is the enforcer for his tribe.
The meeting leads to him asking for her aid in finding a missing Dracos tribe child, a five year old girl, a request that places Kenzie in grave danger…
This is a highly creative world, with a rich cast of mythological beings: from Quinn the Gryphon, to Lucan the Dragon, wolves, wyverns, drakes, and gargoyles.
Then there are the human mages, Mackenzie and her family, who are just a little more than they seem.
The book has lots of magic and action in it, and a hint of romance- not with our main character but with one of the family. Kenzie is on a slow-burn track, and that’s not a bad thing because her past is affecting her in a big way.
It was an enjoyable read, with a enthralling plot and an imaginatively designed world, and I recommend it for urban fantasy lovers, especially those who have enjoyed authors like Ilona Andrews.

I came back to add to this review. I’ve been graced to live in this world during the 3 book series. No spoilers. The story was as good as expected, I got to live in a well designed world with deep characters. The main character is strong and flawed and loving. Lots of fist pumping, YES! And some tears, when a story can catch you like this and illicit such feelings you know you‘ve found a great writer. So happy I stumbled onto this series. It’s on KU but even went back and purchased. This is one I’ll go back to read. Wish it were on audible, hint, hint???
Ladies, we are better than this. We don't need to buy into this old trope of the insensitive, immature, arrogant male MC. I would like to finish this, but I'm not sure I can. It's a shame.

With the world and the way it runs now established, the authors have made it as easy as possible for readers to dive right into the second book in the series to find out what’s next for their characters.
Wonderful and diverse characters, an interesting storyline, mysteries to be solved as the tale continues and a main character that is emotionally ripe for the best kinds of character growth.
A tale of found family, acceptance, trust, and good vs evil.... oh and dragons, did I mention the dragons!?!?
I hold no reservations in highly recommending this book to all lovers of Urban Fantasy.
This book will be enjoyed by readers who loved the Kate Daniels series.
