However, half-sisters Skye and Clare couldn't be more different, struggling with family secrets and hidden jealousies. As the women navigate this unexpected summer together, truths are revealed and their relationships are put to the test.

The Sunrise Sisterhood is a summery slice of joyful escapism as well as an emotional drama about three women healed by the sparkling waves of Salcombe and the power of the sisterhood.

Hello and welcome to my Amazon page! My most recent book is THE SUNRISE SISTERHOOD and there will be new books coming in Autumn 2024 and Summer 2025.

I've been a lover of stories since I was tiny and used to beg my mum to take me to the library because I’d finished all my books and was desperate for new ones. Many of my passions have come and gone (my obsession with home décor shows in the 90s led to a lot of dodgy DIY choices and my attempt at making wine did not end well!) but my love for story and drama and romance will last a lifetime.

My favourite thing to do is to get myself comfy with a book in my lap and my dog, Pearl beside me and lose myself in a story. I love the feel of a paperback, but am equally happy reading on my Kindle or iPad. I now listen to a lot of audiobooks too, especially when I’m driving. I read a wide variety of novels, but there is a special place on my bookshelf for Marian Keyes, Maeve Binchy, Beth O’Leary and Emily Henry. I didn’t start writing until 2013, before that I ran a PR and Marketing agency for many years and loved hearing my clients’ stories of how they started their businesses. Those stories must have stayed in my subconscious because I find I often write about the sort of places I used to work for. THE SUNRISE SISTERHOOD is my sixteenth novel and I’ve already written drafts of the next two I hope that my books give readers a place to escape to, somewhere comforting, a space to explore their feelings and find joy. My stories are about people I’d want to be friends with, characters my readers will root for. They are often about ordinary women doing extraordinary things.

I grew up in Birmingham but moved to Nottingham for university and have been here ever since. I live in a small village just outside the city, our house overlooks fields of barley in one direction and horses in the other, and our garden is full of fruit trees: damson; plum; pear and of course, Bramley apples!

Great storyline that kept me wanting to keep on reading. Was not a mushy romantic storyline but still had enough desire in the writing to make it intriguing! Great ending!

The book was a easy read and really kept my interest.

What a delightful story, all about the high and low of family relationships, sibling rivalry, and love connections. It was hard to put down.

Such a sweet, story of family, love, disappointment and joy. A tribute to Salcome, too. I didn't want it to end! Highly recommend!

Kept me interested throughout. Love, laughs and tears and wonderful characters with personalities so individual. Can't wait to read another book by Cathy Bramley

I enjoyed this book more than i expected. I dread "women's fiction/romance". But this one was very well done, with the romance limited to realism. The characters were real and believable. I also enjoyed the age spread among the characters. Thanks. I look forward to reading more from Ms Bramley.

I loved the warmth of the story. The twist and turns of the back stories were so intriguing. I've never heard of the cities of Bath or Slacombe but I feel as if I've been there after reading this.

The story was fine a 4 star for sure. But...the author lost me at the character with an arm broken in two places, no cast on it, taking morphine and then breastfeeding. That was just really difficult to swallow. I'm very surprised the editor didn't catch.

1.0 out of 5 stars Far-fetched

What a disappointment. I didn't finish this book because I found it so unbelievable, the episode at the first catered birthday party was so far-fetched . I didn't like Liz, the 'main' character either, had no redeeming features at all. Not for me and I usually enjoy this author's books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Famiglia e sincerità

L'autrice ci racconta che non serve essere consanguinei per essere una famiglia. Una storia ambientata nel Devon, tre donne, anzi quattro, in una ragnatela di amore, lutto ancora da elaborare, delusioni ed emozioni.

I have read all of Cathy Bramley's books and each time she publishes a new one my thought is that it could not be as good as the ones I have read so far......BUT, they just keep getting better and better!!! Thank you, Cathy, for the absolute reading pleasure you have given to so many. Ten stars for this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars As always, a perfect read.

Three strong female characters, all very different from one another. I loved reading Liz, Clare and Skye’s story. Cathy has a way of writing that is just real life, not fiction, with all its problems, struggles and utter joy. Keep them coming Cathy.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice story

A pleasant story of three women . The characters were relatable and believable. Took one star off (would have been two had it not been the festive season) as it was very predictable. Enjoyed all the same.
