Traci Harding is a Science/Fantasy Novelist, published through HarperCollins/Voyager Australia, Brio Books and Bolinda Audio. Her work blends fantasy, fact, esoteric theory, time travel and quantum physics, into adventurous romps through history, alternative dimensions, universes and states of consciousness.

Since its release in 1996, the Ancient Future Trilogy has had over fifty reprints and five editions - including an omnibus in 2014. The first book of the series made the ABC’s list of “the Most Loved Books of All Time” (2010) and “Australia’s Top 100 Homegrown Reads” (2013). The Ancient Future became an Australian best-seller in its first month of release, and in 2014 the omnibus shot into the Amazon US top 5 Science/Fantasy books. Every Harding novel since the Ancient Future has debuted in the top 10 on the Science/Fantasy best-sellers list soon after publication. Traci has sold in excess of a half a million books in Australia alone.

The first book of The Timekeepers – Dreaming of Zhou Gong, was selected as one of the “50 books you can’t put down – National Get Reading Campaign 2013”.

Along with The Alchemist’s Key, The Ancient Future has been published in Complex Chinese. The Mystique Trilogy has been published in Russian, Czech, Slavic, Greek and Romanian. All of Traci’s works are also available as audio books through Bolinda Audio.

The prequel to the Ancient Future Trilogy – This Present Past – was released through HarperCollins/Voyager Australia and Bolinda Audio in November 2018.

The first three books of ‘the Ancient Future trilogy’ have just been re-released worldwide in a 25th Anniversary Edition through Brio Books, and will be released as a limited, collectors edition hardcover box set in late 2022.

Note, if you loved the Ancient Future Trilogy, the Celestial Triad continues the adventures of the Chosen. The Triad of Being has links to those first two trilogies, as does 'the Timekeepers' trilogy. Still, as these books do quantum jump through time quite a bit, any of these trilogies can be enjoyed without having read the others.

What an outstanding fantasy novel. First, I’m thankful for a very enjoyable, full & complete stand alone novel that can easily be extended into further stories.

The main protagonist is a strong female of character. Unlike so many dominant loner silent masculine protagonist, Tory uses her strength to build and develop a strong supporting team. She draws on this team to renew her spirit as she experiences trauma and heartache. It’s not a story of redemption, it’s a story of discovery of self and the strength that comes from forging bonds of friendship that endure.

So many story’s today pit one person against the world. In this story it’s the act of leadership and the illustration we can accomplish so much more as free and coequal persons sharing common values and a unified purpose.

Like much fantasy, there are what many consider pagan themes & ideas woven throughout. If you have different beliefs, don’t be distracted from the greater themes of love, responsibility, kindness and decency. I’m not a believer in Celtic deities or Wiccan ideals, and yet I still thoroughly enjoyed the story and wonderful characters Traci Harding creates.

Very, very highly recommended for all fantasy fiction lovers.

This is probably one of my favourite book series ever. Traci has written an amazing book that when I read it, I always feel uplifted and that ice had important insights into life afterward. I don't know how many people I've introduced to this this series since I originally read it 13 or do years ago, as the number is constantly growing! But each one has loved it and passed the word along!!
Do yourself a favour and read this and the rest of the books after it. It's so worth it!!!

Good read for fans of mystical, alternative histories.

I purchased this first book of the trilogy and was well pleased with the author's writing. Upon finishing the book I purchased the Kindle version of Ancient Future Triology (contains this first book as well as the remaining two of the trilogy) and am currently reading the final book of the trilogy.

I was unfamiliar with this author and was initially uncertain that I would want to read the complete trilogy. Thus, I bought the first book separately and then the complete trilogy.

I'm 13 everyone but I am a major bookworm! The plot in this book is simple but at the same time adventurous. Just by the wording Traci Harding has used it transports you to the place and lets your imagination thrive as it pieces together the detailed scenes. The characters will worm their way into your hearts and refuse to leave which adds to the thrill of reading this fantastic book!!

I recommend to everybody!!

I thought I would be reading a book about time travel and knights of old fighting battles. Instead, I got a Harlequin Romance novel with a Socialist Utopia twist. Every farmer just gives their children to the State to be raised and educated? Seriously?
The time travel was almost glossed over as the main character just seemed to say... "I've traveled through time? Ok, cool. Moving on."
As far as Knights and battles... The writer would tell us there was a battle. That's it. Really?
And as for the Romance part... I've actually read a couple of Harlequin novels and I enjoyed them WAY MORE.

Unable to put down, read all through the night and saw first light.
It never stops, just keeps going. Doesn't contain any 'filler' you find in a lot of books.

This is the first book in several trilogies based around the same characters. This book starts in the late 20th century but quickly goes back to 5th century Britain for the main, dipping back in and out of the 20th century. Strong likeable characters which mixes mythology and humour. I have enjoyed all of the books by Traci Harding.

I first reD this book in the hard copy version and couldn't put it down, and then went on to devour the the other two in the trilogy in quick succession. I love the way that Traci Harding tells a story. It didn't take me long after that to read every other story she had published at that time. I love the way she has this new take on mythology, history, strong women, time travel and reincarnation. You can't help but be drawn in to the worlds that she creates.

I could write more but I believe that the books speak for themselves . . . Go out and read them!

I love this series. Originally bought the paperback version some years ago. Have read and re-read (several times) all of these books. Enjoyed going back to the start again and revisiting all of these characters. Love the take on the world and how things might be vastly different with the impact of reincarnation and the 'magic' of the ancients and time travel. Too much fun! Might just have to read it again....
