After a devastating series of personal losses, Larry Randolph finally had things under control. Then one morning while praying, he felt God speak two simple words to his heart: "Therapy dogs."
There was only one problem. Larry didn't have a dog, and hadn’t since the loss of his beloved basset hound, Gus. Why would God say that? Could Larry even open himself up to loving a dog again? He had far more questions than answers.
But then came Grace.
Together, Larry and his beloved yellow lab Gracie brought hope and healing to hundreds of sick and lonely people. But when Larry's own life takes a shocking and terrifying turn, it’s up to Gracie to rescue Larry and his family too.

About the authors
Jennifer Bleakley’s love of the written word began with a coffee pot. As a shy young girl, she found it hard to verbally communicate what was in her heart. Her perceptive father began writing notes to her and leaving them in front of the coffee pot for her to find in the morning. Jen took great delight in replying to her dad—leaving her own notes for him to find. Thus beginning their “coffee pot chronicles,” and Jen’s lifelong love of the written word.
Jen holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling, and worked for several years as a grief counselor before relocating to NC with her husband and staying home with their two children.
With her career plans on hold, and while living in a sea of dirty laundry, Cheerios and apple juice stains, Jen found comfort in journaling—recording evidences of God’s hand, still at work, even in the midst of the mundane. Her journaling morphed into a blog, where she still writes regularly about glimpsing God’s grace in our daily lives.
Jen is a contributing author for Treasuring Christ Curriculum and She Believes Online Bible studies, and she writes curriculum and devotionals for her local church in Raleigh, NC. And even though she once swore she was too introverted to speak from a stage, she has found that God’s grace is big enough to allow her to do just that, and now delights in speaking about His extraordinary grace.
When Jen is not typing away on her beaten-up computer, you can find her hanging out with her handsome software engineer/wood-working husband and two rapidly growing children, chasing after their very needy Golden Retriever, or sitting in carline. If you can't find her there, she is most likely buried under a pile of laundry daydreaming of the beach.

Have you ever wanted to experience what it is like to take the first step in faith into a therapy animal ministry? How about learning about and from the experiences of a true ambassador for Christ, and to the struggles of a local missionary’s life in the United States?
This book revived my passion and the burn on my heart to do the Lord's will and to have courage to face the unknown. The book served as a great reminder that ministry takes humility and putting another person's needs before your own desires, but that the rewards of doing so are inexplicable blessings and joy. Reading the prayers of Chaplain Larry, and the answers to his prayers, was refreshing and confirming that God is in his ministry and with us.
I also enjoyed learning about the beginnings of the therapy dog ministry Canines For Christ, how Chaplain Larry interacts with his dogs, and how these ministry animals seemed to have an instinct about human emotions and a God-given humbleness that isn’t trained - or as Chaplain Larry would say, “these dogs are Jesus in fur.”
Grab the tissues and your sense of adventure for a Paw-inspiring tale of the beginning of Canines For Christ ministry.

This true story of a love of God, love of people, and love of dogs was honest, heart-felt, and inspiring. At times I felt as though I was reading author Larry Randolph's diary as he gave an honest account of the trouble, and often heart-wrenching times, he went through on his journey.
The stories the author shares about his therapy dog visits were quite emotional. Whether it was at a hospital or a special needs school, people were blessed by Larry and his therapy dogs! Sometimes I giggled, sometimes my eyes filled with tears. The positive impact he and his dogs had on the suffering, the lonely, and the lost is profound. The way he and his dogs shared Jesus with each precious individual they met is so moving. It was so inspiring to see how the author trusted God and how many people have been blessed by this decision!
God has truly used this man, his beautiful dogs, and this ministry to impact the lives of thousands.
...and all because a man chose to be faithful to God's calling, even when he didn't fully understand.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5
As Larry knows, Champ and I are a TEAM with C4C.
Last week we were making our visits at an assisted living center. We had visited one resident many times before and I noticed the pictures on the wall and asked her about them.
She stated they were "old" pictures of her family. I recognized one of them and she said "Yes, that is the Children's Zoo director, now Retired, everyone knows him."
She also said, "I'm not usually in bed in the afternoon, but I broke my ankle last fall and need to stay off of it, so I've been reading a lot lately. "
Likes to read and loves animals? She is getting a copy of your book FINDING GRACE today as I bought two more.
I am also giving one to a resident that had a Service Dog for Mobility.
Opened doors and brought her things as she is in a wheelchair.
She told me, "Don't tell anyone, but he is with me now in that drawer." She had him cremated.
She is getting the other book today!!
Thank you Larry for letting the Holy Spirit work in you. I'm finally listening to his "whispers" again too.
