I'm currently reading "Technical Analysis, The Complete Resource for Financial Market Technicians, Second Edition" by Kirkpatrick and Dahlquist. This is much more current and gives the best insights into the history, reasoning, pros and cons of technical analysis. Their history and background on analysis seems quite comprehensive and up to date. On most books I've read, I'm left with questions "But what about..." or "What if?" etc. They've hit every one of my concerns on the head. Technical Analysis: The Complete Resource for Financial Market Technicians (2nd Edition)
While the book is a little old, it offers a great overview to the mathematics behind financial indicators. It is a great reference book for anyone who wants to know the mathematics behind financial indicators.
