Doyle is honest enough to frequently remind the reader that there may be other views of the same story and is particularly careful to include another view from a family member so that the story and the strata of society is seen 'in the round' . Despite this the book is full of combat and is compulsive reading.
The author does not pull her punches, even when it is her own nose she is thumping.
