This is a sweet story about two friends who live in different countries. They write letters to each other and continue to stay friends. In their letters they share about their new life and school and the things they are learning. Readers will learn about the power and importance of friendship with people of different backgrounds, sharing their feelings, and learn a little more about the different parts of the world.

This is a great resource for young kids to help with feelings of loneliness and isolation. This back and forth between friends works through all of the feelings that friends being separated by a move might go through, including jealousy when new friendships are formed (although it doesn't mention the word). The illustrations bring the story to life and help the reader visualize what's happening. Add this to your packing list!

I love how this beautifully illustrated Childrens book is written through letters to share a friends love and keeping connections alive. A must read for any military family or family who moves a lot.

I love how this book was written as letter, what a great idea! And it gives such a good picture of what it can be like not just for army families but for any that moves. The illustration are gorgeous too! Great idea and would highly recommend!

This book is a follow-up about the military girl whose parent was transferred to Italy and the letters and pictures the 2 girls sent to each other. The illustrations match the storyline very well. When children move with their parents to either another state or country, they need to know that even though they make new friends where they move to, they can still stay in touch with the friends they moved away from.

Love how this story is written as letters from two friends separated by military duties. It lets kids know it’s okay to miss someone, and make new friends, too.

Moving away and starting over is something that’s becoming more and more common for children. This book not only addresses the important issue of leaving a best friend behind as well as the fear of fitting in, but it also demonstrates how letter-writing, staying in touch and showing interest in each other’s lives and providing updates can help ease the transition. I see this being helpful for many children!

As a parent, I found this book to be an invaluable tool for starting important conversations with my child about moving, handling emotions, and the importance of maintaining relationships, no matter the distance.

This book is written in the form of letters. What a brilliant idea! It offers a vivid portrayal of the challenges faced not only by military families but also those who relocate frequently. Additionally, the illustrations are stunning! I’m currently teaching my teens to write emails. This book provides some relatable examples! I would strongly recommend the book to other teachers and parents.
