I really like the whole genre of "business fable" or "business parable." The format teaches solid principles without getting preachy. In recent years with a declining attention span I have honestly had trouble reading longform content like books, either reading piecemeal or (more commonly) just not finishing. But this book held my attention for almost a straight read-through. I resented when life interrupted.

I am neither a single mom trying to run a business nor in direct sales, and yet I found the principles universally applicable, and I related deeply to the characters. That is not trivial. Without emotion there is no motion, and so this "business book" engages the whole person, making the principles more memorable and actionable.

The only criticism: in the author's info at the back of the book Lisa's photo should really have had blue hair! And Jeff's too!
